  • The Brew or the Mug builds on the thematic explorations of Skin as a Noun, as a Verb, shifting from the 3 personal to the collective. Where Skin examined identity and transformation as both a state of being (noun) and a process 4 (verb), this new body of work reflects on the subtle but powerful ways social constructs shape our beliefs, moral judgments, and emotional landscapes.

At the heart of it lies a quiet but urgent question: Are our beliefs, habits, and moral convictions truly our own, or are they shaped long before we can claim them? This new body of work reflects on the tension between personal agency and the invisible social structures—culture, history, morality, and power—that shape our inner lives.

Through abstract compositions and recurring motifs of trees—sometimes wind-swept and battered, other times standing in calm—the series becomes a metaphor for the human condition: rooted yet vulnerable, shaped yet enduring. Rather than offering answers, the works create space for viewers to encounter this tension for themselves—between what we inherit and what we create, between the vessel and what it holds.
