This exhibition revisits the works created during the 2023 AiRBrush residency by artists Sherie Ngigi, Namikoye Wanjala, Leikun Nahusaney, Joseph Muturi, Terrence Musekiwa, and Naajah Harun, alongside curators Melanie Manosi and Jepkorir Rose.
We offer a moment to reflect on progression, movement, the passage of time and memory.
AiRBrush is a residency program by Brush Tu, designed to advance the practices of participating visual artists and expand their audience reach. The 2023 residency welcomed two cohorts of artists from the East African region, each engaging in a three-month program from May to December.
Brush Tu Artist Collective, founded in 2013 in Nairobi, Kenya, began as a collaborative space for artists to harness their creative potential. Over the years, it has grown into a hub for artistic innovation, hosting many artists from across Africa since the inception of its residency program in 2017.
