11:00 a.m - 15:30 p.m
Marjetica Potrc’s ‘The Time of Humans on the Soca River’ wall drawing is adapted from the original drawing, which she created at the time of the successful referendum for water rights in Slovenia in 2021.
Presented as a mural in Mukuru community, it is a collaboration between Marjetica Potrc, Primož Novak, and Wajukuu Artist Collective. Marjetica Potrc’s works propose a new, egalitarian coexistence of humans with the natural world, whereby we not only understand and accept our interconnectedness but also consolidate this mutual relationship through law.
Alongside the mural presentation, Wajukuu Artists Collective will host a community gathering dedicated to reflecting on the stories, challenges, and future of our ecology and the community’s coexistence. This event seeks to create an open platform where residents, artists, environmental advocates, policymakers, and institutions come together to listen, learn, and collectively envision practical pathways to restore and protect our shared environment. Through dialogue, artistic expression, storytelling, and community engagement, we hope to strengthen partnerships that center local voices in environmental stewardship and sustainable urban development.
