This is an open Call for the Participation in a listening and sound making workshop which I am doing in Nairobi.
This is an invitation to explore how history influences our listening, sensing and sounding.
In this workshop we will read texts together, listen together and sound together to try and find out how the past has shaped our individual perception of the world today. We discuss texts on the topic, hopefully discover traditional listening methods and invent new ones, listen to music and sounds and experiment with communal sound making in the form of a sound choir.
You don't need any experience for this workshop, you don't need to be a singer but only have a general interest in the topics of listening and experimental sound making.
The sessions will happen weekly every Friday, 6pm @munyu_space at the basement of The Mall in Westlands.
Munyu is a new space for art and artists at the far end of the basement of The Mall organised by Jepkorir Rose Kiptum
First Session Friday 12.4.24 at 6 pm.
